This a coaster, with ruffles, crocheted in holiday red and white. I added fabric stiffener and let it dry upside down on the coffee mug, to get the ruffles to stand up. I really think I'll use these with candle cups, but I enjoyed the project. The coaster picture is next

This is a coffee/tea coaster made in thread... I added fabric stiffener and let it dry upside down over the coffee cup, to get the ruffles to stand up.

Becky's Afghan

This is an afghan I made for my daughter, Becky. The afghan is stitched in a simple pattern of sc-dc and repeat, with each row the same, and the sc always in a dc, the dc always in a sc. When satisfied with the size, I finished it off with a border all the way around. The border is one row sc, then one row dc in back loops and one row sc (Contrast color) in front loops. I then decided to add the contrast to the back side, too, and added that row just beneath the dc row, on the back side. This created the little "teeth" beneath the sc on the front. The flower and leaves were added as an afterthought...and I added a gold thread to the off white yarn when making the flower. I do hope Becky likes it!

The flower pattern was taken from another project and the leaves were freehand... The yarn in the flower is the same off white as the afghan, with the addition of a gold thread.
